The mission of the WHS Athletic Boosters Organization (ABO) is to support all athletic programs at Woodside High School by providing financial resources for equipment and uniform upgrades and other team expenses not otherwise covered through district funding. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run by parent volunteers committed to strengthening the athletics program at WHS. The ABO works with the school administration, parents and guardians, coaches and our local community to generate the additional funding necessary to provide our student athletes with a comprehensive and high quality athletics program.

ABO FUNDING PROCESS
The athletics program at WHS has 22 sports that include 45 athletic teams with over 700 student athletes. The Athletic Department (AD) receives some funding from the district to pay for major facilities, a portion of the coaches salaries or stipends, AD personnel, etc. The district funding is not nearly enough to fully cover all of the costs associated with building and sustaining a successful athletics program at WHS.
WHS athletic teams rely heavily on donations provided by WHS families, staff and community members to fund needs not provided by the school district.
For more detailed information on our funding process please see our ABO Funding Guidelines.
FUNDING REPORTS
In 2016, the ABO shifted away from the old membership model and instead follows a Program Directed Donations approach to fundraising. We work collaboratively with the WHS Athletic Department and coaches to create a Team Ask letter detailing the financial needs for each sport for that season. This is presented at the Parent Meeting at the start of the season. You can be assured that all donations directed toward a specific sport are allocated immediately to that program.
