Woodside High School Softball Team

The entire coaching staff is excited to continue our tradition of excellence in developing YOUR student athletes. It takes a lot of resources to execute a quality program for student athletes and we thank you in advance for your support.

We’re pleased to announce the Woodside HS Athletics Boosters provided $4,300 for the 16-17 season for new helmets and a pitching machine!

This money was provided up-front by the ABO, during the budgeting cycle that began this past fall, to ensure the team has the equipment it needs this Spring.

THE ABO BUDGET PROCESS

The ABO works with our coaches and the Athletic Director to consider the team’s proposals, and to allocate funds to approved requests. Most teams receive some or all of their allocations at the start of the fall term (and for some fall sports, the prior May) so they can initiate the purchase process for long lead-time items.  This often happens before donations are requested from players’ families.

Then, at the start of the subsequent terms, budgets for Winter and Spring are proposed or revised as needed.

Athlete of the Week

Woodside High School Athlete of the Week October 6th, 2017

Abby Wong

This weeks Athlete of the Week is senior Abby Wong. Abby plays on the Girls Varsity Tennis team, her coach, Umesh Gadasalli, says, “Abby, as co-captain of the tennis team, displays great sportsmanship and leadership and is a resolute athlete.” Her favorite class is AP Calculus A/B with Mr. Carpenter because of his enthusiasm within the curriculum. Abby’s goals this year are to get into her top schools, which include: UC Los Angeles, UC San Diego, or Boston University. With that, her dream job is to become a surgeon in a field she has not yet decided. These big dreams and goals serve as a motivation to get into a great medical school. A high set of goals will help Abby succeed throughout the rest of her high school career and end her senior year on a great note. Other than that, Abby enjoys listening to indie pop music and her dream location to travel to would be Paris, France because of the scenic beauty it has to offer.

Congratulations Abby Wong!
